Yay – summer is now in full swing! I love the warm weather, but the heat and humidity don’t always get along with my everyday makeup routine. Nothing is worse than your makeup running down your face before you even make it into the office! Here are some of my favorite summer must-haves for a light everyday beauty routine.
The most important beauty and skincare product for summer is sunscreen! My absolute favorite sunscreen is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch – it really does live up to its name. It’s one of the few sunscreens I have found that does not leave me feeling greasy and oily after applying!
Summer is the time of year that I say goodbye to my full coverage foundations and replace them with a BB Cream. The one I am currently loving is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. It’s very sheer and lightweight, making it perfect for those hot summer days. If you’re looking for a bit more coverage, try mixing the BB Cream with a little bit of your regular foundation. This product also has built in SPF 15 sunscreen, so if most days your skin doesn’t get to see daylight (ughh the pains of working in an office), than this may be is a good option for you.
To add some color to my everyday look, I like to wear a bight lipstick or lip gloss. For day time, I have been obsessed with the Maybelline Coral Heat Lip Gloss. Underneath it, I like to apply a chapstick to keep my lips extra hydrated. The EOS Pomegranate Raspberry Lip Balm is very moisturizing and smells amazing!
Another must-have item that is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. It has such a beautiful golden shimmer, and I find that it’s extremely versatile! It’s perfect to use on your cheeks to create a glowing highlighted complexion, or on the eyes for a small touch of shimmer. Add some mascara to create a more amplified wide-eyed look, and you’re ready to head out the door!
Lastly, one part of my beauty routine that I can tend to neglect is my hair. I try my best to use a deep conditioning treatment once a week, but for me that can oftentimes make my hair a bit oily. Since the sun can be very dry and damaging to my hair, I like to use a lightweight hair oil to keep the ends fresh. Currently I am using the Renewing Aragan Oil or Morocco by Organix. The best part about these is that they’re inexpensive and smell AMAZING!
